The Dark King: Chapter Four, The Dark King makes a deal

His dark eyes flicked around the conference room, staring at the small-headed, slit-eyed people of the Llimac kingdom. These fools weren't fit to scoop dog dung!

Then the low voice of the leader of the Llimac kingdom said, "Run away citizen, you say?"

"Yes, fool, I just told you that."

"How much will you pay the Llimac kingdom for helping you catch him?"

"I'll pay you 10 grand," said the Dark King.

"Deal", said the Llimac leader.

"Fools!" thought the Dark King. "As soon as they find the boy I'll destroy them."

They all stood up and strode out. The Dark King strode into the army room.

"All Dark Knights get ready ready to kill some small heads!"

The Dark King Chapter 3: Caught!

Fisk ran outside to pick up a half eaten apple lying next to an old dead tree. He picked it up and stuffed it in his pocket. When he spotted a poster on the tree saying, "Kings castle over crowded! King tells all who take shelter in his castle to move into the town's crumbled houses!" Fisk gasped with horror. He would get caught!

He continued to read the message: "The King himself will overlook everyone moving in."

Before he could even run to hide, he heard horses galloping towards the town. He clasped his mouth to stop from screaming as he saw the Dark King come at lighting speed towards the town. He quickly spotted the destroyed light house and leaped behind it. He could hear dark raspy breaths everywhere. He quickly dashed behind a house near the town and the country.

The Dark King walked to the border and shouted at the guards, "Fools! Look at all your gaps, a troll could fit through them!" All the knights gathered around for their scolding. A knight on horseback stood next to the building where Fisk hid. Fisk took a large rock and lifted it into the air. He dropped it straight on the knight's head. The knight dropped to the ground without a sound.

Fisk jumped on the horse and gave him a slap on his behind to get him going. The Dark King's pure back eyes whipped towards him! "I thought i had killed all their souls five years ago! SEIZE HIM!" Fisk galloped away with Dark knights following right behind him.

The Dark King Chapter 2: 5 years later

FIsk took a rotten apple and popped it in his mouth. Ever since the Dark King had arrived and took over the light kingdom he had had to sneak out of his house and collect litter on the streets to eat.

No one ever came in his house because the dark knights (now everybody but Fisk) lived in the castle. The town was a ghost town. Occasionally dark knights patrolled the town, but they thought ghosts of the dead lived in the houses so they never walked in. Even Fisk's dog had been found by the dark king himself and trained into a watchdog.

Now the sun was always dim and all the crops had died. He was in a way starved. He could never run to any other kingdom to live because he would get caught. The beautiful river had dried out and none of the animals could take the conditions. No other kingdoms helped because they were frightened by the Dark King and his sword who turned all into his servant.

The Dark King, Chapter 1: The Dark King Arrives

He shoved the last horse into its stall just as the sun rose above the horizon.

"Good work Fisk," said the horse keeper as he tossed him a coin.

Fisk grinned and walked towards his shabby little stone house. It wasn't much, but he was lucky he could even afford a house. He hadn't even gone to school. He did small jobs around the kingdom for a living. The only companion he had was an old beagle. He needed so much money he worked his back out over night. He took a small food bowl, threw in a few leftovers and dropped it in front of the beagle. He went outside for a breath of fresh air and noticed something odd.

It was two in the morning and the sky was pure black with the moon hanging in the sky. Then over the hills he noticed a large black stallion galloping up the hills with a large man in pitch black armor sitting on top. The man wore a large black cape across his back and had pure black eyes. His stallion galloped up the hill while his rider waved a blood red flag in the air. He took a torch out of the black bag slung over his shoulder and struck it with a match. He thrust the torch at a nearby crop and it burst into flames. Everyone started screaming and running.

The dark rider withdrew a long dark sword and struck a pedestrian running by. Instead of instantly dying, the pedestrian's eyes turned pure black. The pedestrian shouted "Hail the mighty Dark King!" The dark rider withdrew a bow and arrow and started shooting at everyone he could reach. Before he knew it, helpless people everywhere were strutting around with pitch black eyes.

Fisk ran into his house and locked the door. He jumped through a trap door to his basement and quickly hid behind a broken-down wagon. Above he heard footsteps behind his door and the door came crashing down.

The dark man kicked over furniture searching for life that wasn't dark. He slashed the trap door open and leaped in. Fisk could almost hear the raspy breath of the dark man. Then the dark man said, "Ahh, there's nothin' here, I'll go search the castle and kill the king!"

Fisk gasped a breath and slumped down.

Owls Poem

Owls are silent flyers
But their hoots are loud
My ear drums burst when they hoot away
Of their calls they are proud

Their feathers are long and sleek
They shine in the moonlight
Some are spotted and some are striped
They shimmer in the night

Their talons are long and deadly
Like daggers flying through the air
They silently pick up their prey
They are beyond compare

Barn Owls have a heart shaped face
Elf Owls are minuscule
Great Grays are huge
The Spotted Owl's eyes shimmer like a pool

Bird of the Sea: Chapter One: A New World

His egg tooth started protruding from the egg shell. His eyes were sealed tight shut. He could hear the egg shell cracking around him. His head started popping through the top of the egg. He felt his puny body flop out on to the crevice ledge. He could hear other birds squawking around him.

While laying on the rocky ledge he felt one thought nag at his mind—food. He started peeping rapidly for food. He kept on peeping until he finally felt a large beak slip a small fish down his throat. He then felt a beak pick him up and plop him on a soft pile of twigs and leaves. He felt a beak running through his fluffy feathers preening him. He could feel the large beak plopping more fish down his throat.

The little puffin could then hear muffled voices start speaking up in his ear slits.

"We will name him Thoralf", said a sweet voice quickly.

Then a squeaky little voice spoke up, "Mummy, why is it naked?"

Many questions slammed into the new puffins brain, like what was a mummy? He didn't really even know what a "question" was. The noise of the world was almost too much too bear after being cooped up in an egg for a month.

Before European colonization reached America / the new world, burrowing owls covered all of the new world. Due to deforestation in South America their numbers are decreasing.
